About The Game

As We Descend combines roguelike deckbuilding with strategic gameplay. Players command forces in card battles against enemies in a post-apocalyptic city. The fate of humanity is determined by tactical decisions made on the battlefield and in the political structure of the city. The project involves creating and developing squads using found technologies. Each group has a unique set of cards that can be expanded and modified. Proper placement of military formations in As We Descend ensures success in battles. The combat zone requires moving your troops between the Defense and Support zones to repel attacks and organize a defense against giant enemies.

The city serves as humanity’s last base. Communicating with residents and overcoming politics ensures supplies and the formation of alliances. Limited time and supplies require thoughtful use for the future. Forays into the devastated outer zones present many challenges, requiring the extraction of valuables for development, as gamers advance through 3 biomes to the central core. Progress, even through failures, brings knowledge and means for deep immersion. Playing for one of the 3 key factions of the metropolis, the protagonist influences its fate in the post-apocalyptic era. Discovering secret information and understanding political currents form the main goals. This project acts as the first and last line of defense of the city walls, holding the line against impending dangers.
