Tokyo Xtreme Racer is a unique racing game set in a futuristic Tokyo where players compete in high stakes street racing on faithfully recreated highways. Unlike traditional racing games, the game features a unique «Spirit Points Battle» system where victory is determined not just by crossing the finish line first, but by breaking the opponent’s will with superior driving skills. Players navigate the intricate Shuto Expressway system with its complex elevation changes and tricky turns, weaving through traffic in customizable cars. The games signature mechanics include starting races with headlights flashing, challenging a variety of opponents who have unique personalities and driving styles. The atmospheric setting of Tokyo at night combined with the psychological warfare of the SP Battle system creates an intense racing experience that goes beyond a simple race to the finish line.
