All core HEROish gameplay takes place in 2D. That is, the player can move left and right across the screen. The battles take place in a very simplified analogy with the fights in the MOBA genre. You and the enemy have a base with a crystal. If the hero of either side dies, then he is reborn at his base, and the health of the crystal decreases. Or you can go to the base and attack this crystal. Whoever runs out of crystal health points first loses. But there is also a slightly different format of battles, when you need to fight off waves of enemies.
