The Book of Aaru is an isometric action RPG set in an alternate Ancient Egypt where mythology meets advanced sci-fi technology. You play as Emily Sands, an explorer from 1926 who disappeared while searching for the Temple of Osiris and now exists as a cursed being stripped of her humanity. The game takes inspiration from Hades and Curse of the Dead Gods, but introduces its own innovations, such as an active meta-progression that rewards exploration and destruction of the environment, rather than just level completion.
