Burden of Command does a great job of showcasing all aspects and horrors of war. Soldiers are often portrayed in history books as brave and desperate, but in reality they are also people who often experience fear. They carefully overcome it and are eager to fight for their lands and families, but after that they are overtaken by real horror and trembling in moments of relaxation. The main character is just starting to serve as a company commander. The actions take place during the Second World War, so his future subordinates are known only from the most laconic cards of the general business, just as they know about their future command. The protagonist will have to earn their trust and at the same time concentrate on the tactics of fighting against the Nazis and liberating cities.
