Players can choose between completing the track alone or playing online multiplayer. In Lonely Mountains Downhill, everything is quite simple — controlling a character on a mountain bike, the player rides through simulated tracks, overcoming obstacles, and launching off ramps to gain speed. Each track presents new challenges, and aside from visual differences, it offers various obstacle variations. Initially, each location has a trail that is considered the nominal route. However, it is not mandatory to stick to it. In Lonely Mountains Downhill 2023, players can cut the path, jumping down slopes or using alternative routes to shorten the distance. All tracks share the same concept they involve descending, resulting in almost always high speeds.
