Hell Clock places players in 19th century Brazil during the Canudos War, an era of refuge and government action that left 25,000 people dead. Players take control of Page, a fighter tasked with reclaiming the soul of the Counselor, his mentor, from the afterlife. Each foray into the game's dark zones warps time; Page's powers grow as he confronts the forces responsible for his mentor's death and the imprisonment of his soul.
