Summa Expeditionis is a unique blend of survival, base building and strategy set in the pristine northern Spain of the 1st century BC. As a Roman legionary, you must establish and develop a military outpost in hostile territory while dealing with the fierce Cantabri tribes. The gameplay combines elements of resource management and survival, requiring you to gather supplies, hunt wild animals and craft the necessary tools and weapons. You must transform a basic campsite into a formidable Roman stronghold by managing the work schedule, morale and defensive positions of your soldiers.

The game features a progression system, through which your military achievements can lead to advancement in the Roman hierarchy. Combat plays an important role, as you must conquer local tribes by force, deciding whether to enslave or execute them to maintain control over the Romans. Beyond combat, exploration plays a key role as you venture into uncharted territory, discovering new resources and facing challenges in the harsh frontier environment.
