As befits the laws of the genre, get ready to stand at the head of a powerful space fleet, which has to make a dangerous journey to the most remote corners of a randomly generated galaxy. Control modern spaceships, challenge insidious pirates and other aggressors, enjoy the grandiose tactical space, learn how to correctly redistribute available resources and energy, and also do not forget about the periodic modernization of your own fleet.

Real-time battles give dynamism to Star Souls, and in order for the player to connect brains, and not just train reaction speed, a tactical pause was introduced into the game, during which you can evaluate the situation and give commands to the ships and their guns. Another incentive to stop the game and think is the irreversibility of death. But you have to die again and again.

To ensure that the passage does not resemble groundhog day, Star Souls introduced rogue-like elements at all sublevels of the game — the sector map is randomly generated, many mini-quests and battles are completely random, and you can play for any of several races, the ships of which are very different in characteristics. The outcome of the quests is ambiguous and can lead to different consequences. Losing is no longer a drama and means new adventures and a new experience for the player.
