Cage of Roses is a graphic novel that combines gothic romance with elements of dark mysticism, set in 19th century Germany. The plot revolves around Meike, a young woman from a once wealthy noble family who has suffered financial ruin. She faces an uncertain future, overshadowed by her parents' desperate attempts to regain their former status. However, fate intervenes in Cage of Roses when their carriage is attacked by bandits, resulting in the death of her parents and the main character, along with her maid Henrike, being forced to flee into the forest. As they venture deeper into the forest, they stumble upon a crumbling castle an eerie and unexpected refuge.

This discovery introduces them to a new disturbing chapter, where they meet Magdalena, a mysterious figure with a dark secret. The protagonist’s journey takes her into a setting of vampires and supernatural forces, setting the stage for a complex mix of romance and suspense. The title’s plot invites players to explore multiple paths, each of which impacts the unfolding narrative. Themes of love, loss, and betrayal permeate the plot, creating emotional tension. The dynamics between Meike and the characters she meets reflect issues of trust and survival in a setting where not everything is as it seems.
