BodyRecords features gameplay primarily from a body camera perspective. Microphones directly affect the digital environment; sounds produced by players, including speech, can attract the attention of entities. Participants navigate specific locations in search of specific data. This information is needed to determine and ensure the exit route. Successful progress relies heavily on group coordination, especially when solving integrated puzzles encountered during exploration. This element of cooperation is a necessity for players to work together to overcome the presented challenges.

The project constantly uses the body camera view for interaction. Additionally, the microphone sensitivity introduces a dynamic where careful sound management becomes relevant, as certain entities are programmed to respond to auditory cues. Puzzle elements are intertwined with the exploration aspects of the game, requiring observation and cooperation. Team play is structured as a core requirement, encouraging users to effectively cooperate to overcome various obstacles.

The elimination of a participant does not mean the final end of participation in the session. Instead, defeated players are transported to a separate area designated as Backrooms. Within this separate dimension, there is a mechanism that offers players the chance to return and join their active teammates. The main goal remains collective exploration, solving emerging problems and ensuring escape, while uncovering details related to the surrounding area. Players work together to learn local information.

How to Install the Game

1. Download the game files through torrent.
2. Unzip the game using WinRAR or 7zip. (how to use .rar)
3. Start game «BodyRecords.exe», Play!
4. The language changes in the menu.

Install BodyRecords and Start Multiplayer

1. Get the Portable Torrent

   • Download BodyRecords v0.1.2.3 Portable which includes the integrated Steam Fix.

2. Apply the Multiplayer Fix

   • Download BodyRecords Multiplayer Fix (Steam Fix).

   • Extract or copy its contents into your BodyRecords installation folder.

3. Add Cube Racer to Steam

   • Open the Run dialog (Windows + R) and enter: steam://install/705210

   • Press Enter to add Cube Racer to your library. (You can cancel or remove the download afterward.)

Launch BodyRecords for Multiplayer

• Sign in to Steam and ensure the client is running.

• Navigate to your game folder and double-click BR.exe.

Host a Multiplayer Lobby

• In the game menu, click Create Lobby → Confirm.

• Wait for friends to join or send them a Steam invite directly.

Join a Friend’s Game

• From the main menu, choose Connect.

• Select your friend’s lobby or enter its details to join.

Quick Tips for Best Performance

• All players must use BodyRecords v0.1.2.3 Portable with the latest Steam Fix.

• Verify Cube Racer appears in each Steam library.

• Allow the game through firewalls for seamless network play.

• Use a stable, low-latency internet connection to minimize lag.
