Dead Take begins with a search for a missing friend. When Vinnie stops answering his calls, the player heads to his last known location — a mansion where a party was held the day before. The residence is now immersed in silence. It is necessary to go inside to find a comrade, because in the entertainment industry, actors support each other in difficult times. This is how the investigation of the secrets hidden within the walls of the building begins.

Inside, the mansion turns out to be an abandoned film set with a non-working home theater. Dead Take requires observation and ingenuity to gain access to the locked rooms. During the investigation, USB drives and memory cards are found scattered around the house. These devices contain corrupted video files, some of which can be connected. This allows you to recreate a visual chronicle of the events that took place within the walls of the residence, which forms the basis of the investigation.

The entire gameplay is accompanied by a feeling of someone else’s presence. The goal is to reconstruct the events of the previous night from found footage, a process that reveals the underbelly of the film industry that is spoken of only in whispers. The narrative shows examples of hostility, damaging rumors, and castings that lead to exploitation. A shadowy figure operates, capable of making or breaking careers, and his influence is felt throughout the story.
