Company of Crime — is an elaborate strategy game with RPG elements, where players can create their own criminal empire or stand on the opposite side of the barricade and take control of an elite squad of law enforcement officers. The game was developed by the independent studio Resistance Games and released by 1 °C Entertainment. Company of Crime takes us on a journey to hectic 1960s London. The creators allow us to plunge into the underworld and gradually take over it, while maintaining control over our business in the form of various legal «businesses».

On the other hand, nothing prevents us from playing the role of the chief inspector of the London police by the name of Scotland Yard from the name of the street on which its headquarters was located and trying to break the necks of criminals. Regardless of which side of the conflict we are on, the driving force behind Company of Crime is turn-based missions, during which the action is monitored from the air. If we decide to conquer the London underground, we will take control of gangsters, each of whom has individual abilities developing as you progress. With the help of these underground types, we are gradually expanding our sphere of influence, encompassing both London pubs and clubs, and somewhat less suspicious places such as tailors or veterinary clinics. If their owners don’t want to cooperate, we can try to get them to change their minds. Capturing locations is important because they greatly expand our range of capabilities, if only by providing us with additional equipment.

As you might guess, we are not the only ones who show an interest in power. When carrying out missions, we must take into account the fact that sooner or later members of the enemy gang who want to fight will stand in our way. Correct tactics are important during clashes. In order to provide your units with various bonuses, you should take care of their location — at least in order to give them the opportunity to get around their enemies. Interestingly, during the fighting, our subordinates use their own fists, because the shooting could draw their attention to the police, who do not roam in the fight against lawlessness. For the same reason, in the end, it is worth taking care to get rid of the evidence that in any way burdens our «boys». However, between tasks, we are busy planning the next steps and recruiting new members of our gang.

The game on the other side of the barricade looks a little different. Control over police officers requires both a quick response to various reports and an investigation. The latter require us to hire officers who go to various squalid places and cooperate with all kinds of informants. Cherry on the cake is a kind of rally on the «holes» of criminals, during which we must take care of the safety of police officers and at the same time provide as much evidence as possible.
