Edge of Eternity — this third-person Action RPG here, a game that combines the most important aspects of Japanese RPGs with a medieval atmosphere and steampunk elements. The game was created by Midgar, an independent French studio primarily known for mobile applications. The action takes place in Erion a fantasy country whose inhabitants are under threat of an alien civilization capable of turning people and animals into metal monsters. The player takes on the role of a young farmer named Darion who is ready to face the danger. The story consists of three main locations, including the trading quarter, the government-controlled citadel, and the ruins of the old capital.

The player encounters randomly created monsters and mutants. The game offers a turn-based combat system enriched with several modern mechanics. For example, the player can spy on enemies, checking which one will take the next action; you can also combine your spells for a more powerful effect. The creators paid great attention to the soundtrack, which was composed by Cedric Menendez and inspired by the works of Nobuo Uematsu, Jeremy Soul and Hans Zimmer. The Edge of Eternity is set in three main locations, and they include a trading city called Astrya, a stronghold controlled by the authorities of Heryon the so-called Consortium, and the ruins of Junor the former capital.

The player explores the game world from a typical third-person perspective with a dynamically changing camera angle. From time to time, randomly created monsters and mutants cross the player’s path. The game offers the old school turn based combat system. However, it does feature a few innovative mechanics. For example, the player can check which enemy is going to take an action next, or combine their spells to attack with significantly more power. At the same time, the game includes a world map that allows the player to navigate its surface and resembles its equivalent from the sixth installment of the Final Fantasy series in this aspect.
