Kathy Rain Directors Cut — is an expanded version of the original project, centered around Kathy Rain, who finds herself on a deadly and interesting adventure. The gameplay has undergone many changes, as well as innovations. The story has been enlarged, many locations and new puzzles have been added with previously non-existent mechanics and objects for interaction. The event takes place in the 1990s. The game is a rethinking of the standard project released back in 2016. The user follows a strong-willed specialist named Katy.

She is famous in journalism circles, but has long suffered from many questions about her own troubled past. One day she decides to go on a solo mission to unravel the mysterious death of her recently deceased grandfather. Taking her motorcycle, a pack of cigarettes and a notebook, she finds herself in the center of the local mystery that surrounds her city. Going to investigate, she will think more than once that she is sleeping. Advancement takes place with the help of clues left by a deceased relative.

But the notes give the heroine even more questions. In the walkthrough, the gamer will have to find out what Joseph tried to find in the late nights a few years ago.
