The events of Steel Salvo unfold on the planet Neptune, where the main character can enter into confrontations with robotic opponents. The protagonist has a mechanized suit at his disposal, which allows him to function in the absence of oxygen, as well as altered gravity. In addition, this suit is equipped with two guns one in each hand. In their place can be, for example, a basic revolver, or laser and rocket launchers.

In Steel Salvo, in addition to ranged combat, there is an opportunity to engage in close combat. To do this, you can use an energy sword, which deals more damage than long-range devices. To help in the destruction of opponents, there is a weapon refinement system you can approximately aim at the enemy so that he ends up in a certain area where the projectiles themselves can correct the direction.

There is an opportunity to go through training levels, after which you can fight in normal mode. After passing on the basic difficulty, it will be possible to open the hard mode. There, the number of enemies doubles.
