Field of Glory 2 Medieval Rise of the Swiss — from the late 1300s, some Swiss began to wear long tops, initially as a minority weapon, and the bulk of their soldiers still wore halberds. In 1422, a small Swiss army was defeated at Arbedo by a Milanese army consisting of a large number of armored men who hurried after their initial cavalry attack failed. It has been observed that spearmen cope better with infantry than halberds because of the greater reach of their weapons. Since then, the share of spearmen in the Swiss army has been steadily increasing, so that by the end of the fifteenth century they had become the dominant weapon.

Field of Glory 2 — like the previous part, this is a turn-based strategy simulator, the creators of which were haunted by the glory of the victorious series of Total War games. The game was announced in 2017, and since then it has slowly but surely acquired its dedicated base of fans who have found something special in Field of Glory 2 and the original part, which distinguishes these games from their closest competitors. The plot in the game, as such, is absent. Team campaigns, a phalanx, a combat march, a battle from an ambush — these are what the actions are based on. Here the action is focused on the process itself. The strategy in the historical setting will appeal to many, and this was the stake, especially after the release of the line of Age of Empires and Total War, the theme of historical large-scale strategies.
