The steampunk metropolis of Avalon from Clockwork Revolution is similar in many ways. Its stunning exterior once again conceals a dystopian city in which the upper class rules the rest of the population with an iron fist, not allowing a single cog to object or budge. The city’s obvious wealth and success are on full display, with huge golden statues, futuristic air cars and dazzling propaganda banners prominently displayed, just like in Colombia. This creepy and controversial setting will appeal to those who were fascinated by the deceptive world of BioShock Infinite and all its hidden secrets. Xbox AAA releases have been underwhelming for years. This wasn’t helped by the fact that its last major game, Redfall, was also a huge disappointment. As a result, the company is under increasing pressure to deliver quality first-person blockbusters, with some calling the upcoming Starfield a defining release for Xbox. However, despite the comparatively low level of AAA performance, Xbox still managed to provide good value for money for gamers thanks to the Game Pass subscription and quality small releases.
