The Shell Part II Purgatorio v1.0 (TENOKE RELEASE)

The Shell Part II Purgatorio is a historical detective visual novel that continues the mystery narrative begun in the original Kara no Shoujo The Shell Part I Inferno. The sequel unravels a mystery spanning Japans turbulent pre- and post-war periods. Shiravune has announced that Innocent Gray-developed visual novel Kara no Shoujo 2, aka The Shell Part II Purgatorio, will be released on PC via Steam in the second quarter of 2024. This is definitely one of those graphic visual novels that you definitely shouldn’t pass up. Full content will likely require an external patch.

Set against the backdrop of the small village of Hitogata, whose residents worship clay dolls in accordance with ancient customs, a story of murder unfolds that again raises questions about divine retribution and the curses associated with abandoning old traditions. The story takes place in December 1957, two years after the kidnapping of Toko Kuchiki. It intertwines the fates of Reiji Tokisaki and his sister Yukari, a mysterious cult and a constant cycle of obsession that stretches back to pre-war times. As Reiji investigates these intertwined mysteries, the game challenges players to navigate the complex web of human desires and divine will, highlighting the harsh reality that while curses may come from the gods, it is human actions that ultimately lead to the fulfillment of their sinister harbingers.
