Static Dread The Lighthouse begins after a global cataclysm, placing the player on an island far from the coast. The port authorities reactivate the lighthouse, sending a single keeper to operate it. He uses radio equipment to guide ships into the harbor a task that has consequences for the city and the ships at sea. On the mainland, his wife and daughter are waiting for him, a fact that affects his work and mental state.

Every night shift brings new challenges. Sailors report encounters with creatures that defy biological classification. Some vessels return from voyages without a crew, drifting into the harbor. In this game, the inhabitants of a fishing village on an island perform ceremonies to honor the sea gods and rituals to resurrect the dead. These events challenge the protagonist's understanding of the world and his role in the changed reality.

The choices direct the narrative to one of several endings. The protagonist must maintain his own perception of reality, following directives and trying to protect his family. His actions will either help the ships pass through the growing phenomenon, or lead to the protagonist being absorbed by the force gathering under the waves. The story changes depending on the decisions made during the gameplay, leading to different endings for him and the world around him.
