About The Game

Age of Empires IV Anniversary Edition Yue Feis Legacy is a love letter to Chinese history and the enduring story of a patriot who became a legend. This 2026 strategy RTS management open world mature expansion adds a new campaign, additional units, and a loyalty mechanic that forces you to balance tactical brilliance with personal honor. You lead the Song army against the invading Jin, using guerrilla tactics, fortified encampments, and early gunpowder weapons. The campaign is bookended by cinematics that use a mix of in engine rendering and stylized水墨 animation. The latest version also introduces a standalone historical battle mode where you can replay key engagements like the Battle of Yancheng.

RTS gameplay is true to the Age of Empires formula: gather resources, build up your base, and overwhelm enemies with a mix of unit types. Open world maps are vast and include neutral villages that can be persuaded to join your cause or raided for resources. Mature content addresses themes of loyalty, betrayal, and the cost of war, without graphic depictions. The expansion also includes two new generic units for the Chinese civilization, the crossbow cavalry and the handgonne infantry, usable across all game modes.
