About The Game

Wardrum is a turn based tactical roguelike where decisions are made not only by reason but also by a sense of tempo. Each battle unfolds to the beat of an ancient war drum, and it is the rhythm that determines when an attack will be devastating and when it will be a fatal mistake. You control a squad of warriors fighting against a magical corruption that has engulfed the lands and destroyed neighboring settlements. Battles take place on a tactical grid, where every action is tied to a rhythmic pattern. Each fighter has their own tempo: some are boosted by a strong beat, others require preparation or disrupt the enemy's rhythm.

You plan your moves in advance, place traps, manage distance, and pull and push enemies to force them into the range of powerful attacks. Losing rhythm disrupts action chains and quickly leads to defeat. Death is built into the game's structure. After a failure, the squad returns thanks to the Rhythm Mother's blessing, preserving their progress. Each new run enhances tactical options, unlocking abilities and items, allowing for a deeper connection to the rhythm. Procedural battlefields, random traps, ambushes, and weather effects constantly change conditions, requiring adaptation and precise timing.
