Verdun — is an online shooter that reproduces the reality of one of the most important battles of the First World War. Once we choose a side, we create a squad of four soldiers of different specialties and participate in battles in the authentically mapped areas surrounding Verdun. We are transported back to the First World War, in particular to the Battle of Verdun, which was fought between February and December 1916. For several months, she defended a key French fortress. The plans of the German command, intending to lead to the rapid collapse of the enemy.

Verdun offers us four game modes in which you can choose the side of France or Germany and take part in the famous battle alone or in cooperation with other players. The main type of match is battles in teams of 4 people, consisting of soldiers of different classes and specializations. Each of them is characterized by different skills and the type of weapon used, so close cooperation of the entire team is necessary to achieve success. For victories and completing the tasks assigned to us during the missions, we receive experience points that allow us to develop our character and acquire more and more new abilities, both active and passive, as well as the best types of weapons. We can also play the classic free model, but then we gain experience much more slowly and our soldier does not develop as quickly.

The developers focus on realism and fidelity to historical facts. Fighting locations such as Vauquois, Argonne, Vosges or Caures have been drawn with almost photographic accuracy. All weapons and uniforms used in the game are exact copies of the real ones. Interestingly, our kit changes depending on the accumulated experience — we start the game in uniform from the very beginning of the war, and in the course of character development we acquire the equipment with which the German and French troops ended the war in 1918. As conceived by the developers, it should reflect the progress made in the military and accessories over the four years of war. The damage is presented very realistically. An accurate shot to the head or chest can immediately eliminate an enemy.
