AI The Somnium Files is a neo-noir visual detective novel in which you will find an unusual investigation, a sea of interesting events, a terrible serial maniac and an incredible amount of intrigue. The events of the game take place in the vast alternative universe of the future, in which everything has long been computerized. But this is not the main thing — the main thing is that in Tokyo of that time a serial maniac suddenly appears, who removes his left eye from all his victims. Why is he doing this? What does he want to achieve with his killings? And what is its real purpose? Here you are just about to search for answers to these questions, especially since the next victim of the maniac was a girl who knew the main character, detective Kanami Date.

The gameplay in AI The Somnium Files is quite simple and is based only on the simplest mechanics. The main one is the dialogues, which you will have to take a direct part in. During the investigation, you will communicate with various characters, each of whom can tell you something important. But at the same time, «untwisting» the character for sincerity is not so simple — you will have to choose answer options, ask the right questions and do everything possible in order to attract the person you are talking to.

In addition to dialogues, the process of exploring the environment is waiting for you. Arriving at each new location, you will explore it and look for key objects that will somehow help you find a clue. All you need is to inspect your surroundings and interact with items of interest. For the rest, this is a typical visual novel with a non-linear plot, in which you will have to conduct an investigation, communicate with the characters and make a sea of important decisions. But be careful, because your actions can lead to even the worst consequences.
