Empires in Ruins — introduces a new take on strategy, combining detailed, iconic Tower Defense gameplay with turn-based empire control you’ve never seen before. You have to conquer, build, defend and lead the grumpy sergeant, the main character of the game, Hans Heimer, in your personal vendetta against the system and the entire regime. In a corrupt little principality ruled by entrenched soldiers, arrogant clergymen and overbearing greedy army officers, something has just happened. The godforsaken border area has just erupted in mutiny, severing all contact with the capital and declaring independence.
And at such a critical moment, you need to guess who to send to suppress the uprising. The protagonist Hans Heimer is sent a drunkard and a bum with a harmful character. With all this you will have to, if you want to, you will not want to, but cope with it. Empires in Ruins has two main parts. A turn-based main map that unfolds a campaign where you are called to rule conquered provinces and a battlefield where blood is shed in real time. Empires in Ruins is an entire turn-based strategy and empire-building campaign controlled on the main map. Through the map, you will gain access to single battlefields depending on the course of the plot, to manage diplomacy and access to a single province to improve skills, abilities of characters or check your assets and local governors.
