When creating Manifold Garden, the developers were inspired by the paintings of the Dutch artist Maurits Escher. The graphics are dominated by translucent textures and pencil sketches. The puzzles here are built on visual illusions and paradoxes. The floor and ceiling change places, and the world around you will easily become frozen in time. Locations are full of structures that seem impossible in terms of geometry. The player’s task is to understand how an unusual reality works and find a way out.
Each level has doors that you need to open. Use your intuition and logical thinking to solve puzzles. To go further, the gamer activates various mechanisms. First, the ability is given to control objects. You will be able to move colored cubes, which should be placed in special areas. After carrying out such a manipulation, the space will change.
Each face has its own color. By activating the correct surface, you get a physical change. For example, interacting with a green wall will cause it to become a solid underfoot. The corresponding cube will remain an active item that can be transported through the air to the desired point. By choosing another facet, you freeze time. Fixed cubes are used as stands for their active counterparts. To solve the puzzle, you need to constantly rotate the room and move objects. As you progress, new abilities are unlocked. So the user will be able to jump over chasms, change the direction of the water flow and climb steps.
