The Executioner v1.4

The Executioner is a 2D game that combines elements of an RPG game and horror themes. The game allows players to take on the role of the Executioner, who tortures people for information and kills those who pleaded guilty. The game described here was the debut of independent Little Evil games. An R-rated hybrid game combining RPG elements and visual novels. We have to plunge into the skin of the executioner, who every day is engaged in various tortures of prisoners and the killing of people, with all this, we have to take care of our mental health.

The game is set in a dark world inspired by European medievalism. The player takes on the role of Theodore Grim, the executioner who tortures and kills people and tries to save everything that remains of his sanity. The main character comes from low-income people. He inherited his profession from his father, and he is very good at it, i.e. due to an unusual function — synesthesia (a biological phenomenon that forces a person to interpret a stimulus with a different meaning — for example, hearing color). His task is to collect information about the conspirators and contrast values that are traditional for a city on the threshold of revolution (including scientists, opponents of the so-called New Faith, supported by the crown, and believers of the Old Gods).

Update 1.4:

• Fixed a series of floating bugs that produced a white screen on some machines.
• Fixed the problem that in some cases could displayed the parameters above the maximum.
• Fixed the error of overflowing sound stack, leading to the disappearance of sounds in the middle of the game.
• Change the way to load localization, which should fix the problem with loading bugged interface instead of normal.

In The Essential Man game, the gameplay revolves around reading and analyzing pieces of information and makes choices that affect the following events. Players can make a decision, for example. what to do with the information he received, what is the main approach of the main character to his work (you can even leave the dirty work to an assistant, which requires the player to take responsibility for the possible failures of the assistant), etc. Theodore also has his father’s magazine; however, he is never sure whether to consider the information in it as advice or warnings.

The game has several unusual mechanics and elements, such as a sensor of insanity, the ability to sell the bodies of prisoners on black, buy new instruments of torture and … the main character’s synesthesia, which allows him to tell if someone is lying. The torture system is very complex — each victim has certain physical and mental resistance statistics. Extortion of information requires the player to use appropriate strategies and methods. Victims can get injured and go crazy.

How to Install the Game

1. Download the game files through torrent.
2. Run the installation file «[gamename].setup.exe», follow the instructions.
3. Choose a place on the disk, where the game will be installed.
4. Wait for the notification that the game is installed.
