Lying Souls is a walking simulator and part-time indie horror. Traditionally, for games of this genre, the indie project uses a first-person view. In this project, it is necessary to explore linear locations. Here they let you wander through the night park, the hospital, which seems empty, and other places. The plot line is as follows. Many years ago, a mysterious incident happened to the protagonist’s family. Over time, everything subsided, but the hero never managed to live a normal life. One day he began to notice that everything around him did not look what it seemed. After that, the main character decides to find out what really happened then to him and his family.

The video game Lying Souls has a partially non-linear plot. From time to time, the gamer is allowed to make his own decisions. His choice changes the development of the storyline. It depends on the player whether his ward can find the answers. The backstory and lore are revealed in the usual way. Namely, through notes, diaries, notes and audio recordings scattered throughout the locations. Non-linearity adds replay value to an indie project. Also, this title provokes gamers to re-pass through its system of random events and achievements. Periodically, the hero has to deal with disturbing visions and paranormal phenomena. This character also often has problems with the correct perception of space, which adds to what is happening even more gloomy atmosphere.
