About The Game

Kathy Rain 2 Soothsayer is set in 1998, in the urban environment of Cassidy, where disturbing events are taking place. The player assumes the role of private investigator Kathy Rain, who is facing serious personal problems that require financial resources. Her vehicle is in need of fuel, her food supplies are almost exhausted, and she is facing eviction from her home. At this moment, information appears about a large cash reward for solving a series of murders that have shocked the inhabitants of the city. The central pursuit in Kathy Rain 2 Soothsayer is aimed at a man known as the Soothsayer, who is responsible for a string of serial deaths.

Gameplay requires the detective to find clues, collect physical evidence, and establish connections between disparate facts to form a complete picture of what happened. Successful progress leads to a direct encounter with the person who committed these crimes. The pursuit of this person is associated with significant personal risk for Kathy herself; the investigator may become the next victim of the one she is looking for.

Resolving this string of violent acts requires overcoming the immediate danger of tracking down a killer responsible for multiple fatalities within the city limits. The game’s process goes beyond simply recording the facts, moving toward a necessary, high-risk confrontation with the person behind these violent acts. Progressing through the story involves direct confrontation with the possibility of physical harm or worse from the target during this urban challenge.
