Isles And Tiles is a turn-based strategy and resource management game from Birdworks that combines deck-building mechanics with tile-flipping gameplay. You begin by raising an island from the sea and building a colony on it, using cards to shape the coastline and terrain, as well as manage resources like wood and stone. The game balances colony expansion with the needs of your settlers, forcing you to make strategic decisions about population growth and resource development.

Each game cycle begins with a core deck that expands to over a hundred cards, including legendary foil versions earned by spending victory points. The tile placement system allows no two islands to be the same, giving you the opportunity to tailor the terrain to suit your strategy. Resource management involves building forests for sawmills or creating mountains for mining, depending on the needs of your colony.

The game offers multiple paths to victory - you can focus on growing your population or concentrate on creating the perfect island and ignore your settlers entirely. Powerful artifacts change the rules of the game and create new strategic opportunities, while periodic petitions from settlers provide the opportunity to make meaningful choices that affect the direction of the game. Drawing inspiration from classics like Carcassonne and Settlers of Catan, the game features an original Breton-style soundtrack that accompanies your island-building journey.
