Kugayama Shioris Death Diary asks a disturbing question. What if you found a diary that predicts death and you are the only one who believes it. This 2026 adventure casual visual novel text based horror game from Laplacian follows your character as they become obsessed with a classmate strange journal. Shiori herself is shy and unremarkable. But her diary is extraordinary. It describes deaths with clinical detail days before they occur. The police dismiss it as coincidence. Your friends think you are paranoid. But the diary has never been wrong. And now your name has appeared in the margins.
The latest version adds a second playable character route letting you see events from Shiori perspective. Text based mechanics include a notebook where you can record your own theories and suspicions. Visual novel scenes shift in art style as the story progresses from warm watercolors to cold sketch lines. Horror comes from the mundane setting. The deaths happen in grocery stores on crosswalks and in homes. Adventure gameplay involves following clues from the diary to prevent each death before time runs out. The game has no combat no timers and no fail states. Just choices. The voice acting is minimal and atmospheric.
