About The Game

30XX — is an action platform game enriched with elements borrowed from the roguelike genre. The game is the result of a collaboration between the independent studio Batterystaple Games and Kowloon Nights and is the second part of a cycle started by 20XX. Event 30XX takes place a thousand years after the events introduced in the first part of the series. The characters known from the first part, Nina and Ace, wake up from a coma and quickly notice that the world around them has changed beyond recognition, becoming nothing more than a prison. The main characters must return to action and overthrow the Guardians.

30XX is a side scroller. There are eight procedurally generated worlds waiting to be visited, which we traverse by jumping across platforms and avoiding numerous traps, as well as facing hordes of enemies. While Nina destroys enemies with firearms and can use Power Fusion, which allows her to combine skills gained from defeated bosses, Ace makes great use of white weapons, combining strikes into killer combinations. Like the previous version, inspired by the Mega Man cycle, the game is characterized by a high level of difficulty. Although bosses pose the greatest threat, common enemies can also spoil a lot of blood for us.

This is so important that death is permanent here, and when we fall onto the battlefield, we have no choice but to start the fight almost all over again. Almost because as we progress we get a currency known as Memoria, thanks to which we can gain a certain advantage by developing the abilities of our character, acquiring the ability to preview the challenges that await us, or by changing the way we generate the next stage. Those who find production too easy can activate after certain criteria have been met Entropy Conditions, which in exchange for the opportunity to win valuable prizes make the game much more difficult. The 30XX features colorful graphics made using pixel art techniques. The game is pleasing to the eye thanks to Glauber Kotaki, the artistic director of the project, whose portfolio includes games like Rogue Legacy, Duelyst and Chasm.
