Rise Eterna 2 puts you in control of Yacht, a soldier of the Atrakian Empire whose goal is to restore his kingdom to its former glory. The story picks up the original several years later, plunging the player into the epicenter of a conflict for the throne between two influential houses. The situation is complicated by a mysterious third faction, hatching a plan for final retribution and weaving its own intrigues. The protagonist's primary objective is to track down and eliminate a powerful entity known as the Destroyer, which determines the future of the entire region.

Rise Eterna 2 gameplay is built around turn-based tactical combat, presented across 24 missions with varied landscapes. The environment plays a crucial role in the success of operations, as terrain features directly affect unit stats. Each type of terrain a unit encounters alters their mobility or combat effectiveness. Achieving victory requires skillful use of terrain, taking advantageous positions, and putting the enemy at a disadvantage, which requires thoughtful planning from the player.

This title offers a sophisticated squad building system that allows for experimentation with team composition and tactical schemes. Each hero develops through a unique skill tree, with available abilities determined by their background. The gem mechanic adds additional depth to customization: over 20 different gem varieties can be used to enhance abilities and equipment. This approach allows for detailed customization of soldiers for specific battlefield tasks, creating synergy within the squad and implementing complex strategies.
