About The Game

Asbury Pines is a narrative-driven, incremental title where, to solve the mystery of a brutal murder, players must build production loops spanning the entire history of the town. Gameplay is based on the synthesis of over 50 unique creatures, artifacts, and even plants. The combined efforts of such disparate individuals as the caveman Hrokk and the temporal physicist Moharan allow for the creation and modification of a complex resource extraction mechanism. The efficiency of this system directly impacts the speed at which new narrative fragments are unlocked, gradually shedding light on the dark enigma. The development of automated production loops between the past and the future becomes the primary tool in the hands of a time-traveling detective.

The plot centers on a brutal crime that has shaken a small town to its very foundations. The investigation in Asbury Pines transcends the conventional detective genre, as the mystery extends from the distant past into the distant future. The events unfold across 12 different eras, beginning with the Late Stone Age. The team must piece together clues and information to ultimately piece together the full picture of what happened and understand the motives behind this mysterious crime. Each era adds new details and characters, simultaneously complicating and bringing the solution closer.

The projects world is inhabited by residents known as Pini, who drive the investigation forward with their personal stories and memories. Their experiences and observations are presented in the form of more than 350 short stories. These disparate fragments, gleaned from documents, conversations, and even animal thoughts, gradually weave together into a coherent narrative. The development of production chains is inextricably linked to the unraveling of secrets and a deep dive into the rich history of this extraordinary place, where every resident may hold the key to understanding the tragedy.
