About The Game

GEX Trilogy brings together three titles about a lizard stuck in a world built on TV cliches and parodies. The collection includes the original 2D platformer GEX, as well as two sequels in 3D format — GEX: Enter the Gecko and GEX 3: Deep Cover Gecko. In these parts, the gamer controls the hero, who moves through satirical levels inspired by TV shows and movies. The main abilities of the character are tail strikes, sticky paws and jumps, which are necessary for moving and eliminating opponents. His goal is to destroy TVs scattered throughout the zones.

In GEX Trilogy, you need to escape from the Media Dimension — a fictional universe filled with hackneyed genres and overloaded with references. Each location is a grotesque variation of popular formats, and only after collecting remotes can you move on. The project has hidden segments and alternative routes designed for replay. The mechanics focus on exploration, interaction with the environment and searching for items, without a hard combat component.

A special place is occupied by the voice acting: more than 300 lines performed by Dana Gould are built into the course of the game. Phrases appear depending on the actions and what is happening on the screen, commenting on the situation in a manner characteristic of the character. This technique enhances the effect of ridiculing media templates, turning the game into a consistent excursion through outdated images. In each episode, the platformer builds its own ironic rhythm, where humor is not separated from the gameplay, but becomes part of the overall structure.
