About The Game
The Royal Writ is a strategy card game where you don't just play cards from your hand, you control adorable, battle-hardened animals on the battlefield. Each card represents a loyal follower that moves toward the enemy base, dealing damage along the way, but any card that reaches the enemy is destroyed forever and removed from your deck for the entire turn. This permadeath mechanic turns self-sacrifice from a simple risk into a core strategic element, creating memorable stories as your fragile flamingo, short-sighted butterfly chick, or tailed lizard fight to protect your kingdom.
The game features two distinct campaigns with unique challenges: the first has you crushing a rebellion while navigating environmental hazards like toxic swamps, while the second has you wielding gunpowder weapons that rain bullets down on your advancing troops. Your army is made up of adorable animals, from renegade red ants to sacrificial lambs, each with different abilities and personalities that shape your tactical approach. Along the way, you’ll encounter quirky NPCs like a crazy praying mantis dentist and a goat tactician whose loyalties are in question.
Built on the roguelike principle, each game offers different maps, bosses, and strategic scenarios, complete with collectible relics that alter the gameplay.
