About The Game

Aether and Iron, transporting gamers to an alternate 1930s New York, is a retrofuturistic role-playing adventure set in a floating metropolis. The city's architecture has been transformed beyond recognition by the antigravity substance known as ether, blending film noir and decapitated punk styles. The protagonist is smuggler Gia Randazzo, who accidentally finds herself at the center of a massive conspiracy. She must navigate between criminal syndicates, making difficult decisions to save the sky capital from rampant corruption. Social interactions are determined by dice rolls based on three basic stats: Dexterity, Intelligence, and Courage.

Tactical encounters unfold on a road grid, requiring careful vehicle positioning. Aether and Iron offers a deep customization system for levitating vehicles, which are the main selling point in turn-based battles. The squad is formed by colorful teammates who drive their own vehicles and possess unique talents. Garage management allows for detailed vehicle customization, distributing six available slots for engines, powertrains, and weapons. Installing new parts directly impacts the car's weight, action points, and the level of police attention it attracts. To successfully dominate the airspace, you'll need to:

• combine targeted attacks with evasive maneuvers;
• manage the armor of allied crews;
• adapt your onboard arsenal to specific combat missions;
• take into account strict time constraints in challenging missions.
