Monster Mop Up will allow you to get into the role of the Guardian from the Ministry of Concealment of Monsters. The main task is to find and return the lost creatures, Ragamuffins, who have ended up in the human world. After that, he will have to systematically eliminate all material evidence of their presence in each location. The process includes washing away stains and destroying excrement by flushing or burning. Successful completion of tasks opens access to advanced equipment and various improvements for working tools.

Game locations in Monster Mop Up extend from small homes to vast banquet halls and multi-story hotels that require complete restoration. In these places, you will have to actively search for Ragamuffins, often hidden and in need of capture. Each type of these creatures leaves behind a unique mess, and improper handling leads to the appearance of additional waste. The player can document each rescued pet in the Monstropedia, a reference book detailing their names, ages, and personal interests.

In addition to the cleanup missions, the game offers the management of a personal base, which also serves as a shelter for rescued Ragamuffins. The living space can be expanded by constructing new rooms as the game progresses. There are over 150 pieces of furniture and decor available for customization to furnish the home. The player is the architect and designer of this central hub, creating a shared environment for themselves and the creatures they collect during their forays.
