HOTEL BARCELONA is a 2.5D action RPG slasher from legendary creators SUDA51 and SWERY, immersing you in a hotel filled with traps designed to lure America's most dangerous serial killers. You play as Justine, a federal marshal whose mind is inhabited by Dr. Carnival, a deranged killer, creating a disturbing dual personality dynamic as you methodically eliminate every killer in the building. The game's core mechanic revolves around the strategic use of death slasher phantoms ghostly echoes of your previous attempts that mimic your precise movements and can damage enemies, turning failure into a tactical advantage. Combat emphasizes aggressive play, as spilled blood fills your Skull Gauge, ultimately triggering Carnival Awakening, a devastating special attack that reveals your dark side.

Seven themed zones await you, each inspired by different horror subgenres and featuring unique bosses that require strategic thinking and quick reflexes. The atmosphere of 1980s American horror films permeates every blood-soaked environment, from haunted mansions to twisted laboratories. Behind the single-player roguelike structure lies online multiplayer with three-player cooperative missions and competitive PvP invasions, where a fourth player can hunt you down.
