A Fold Apart — is the work of the independent studio Lightning Rod Games. This is the debut production of this studio, but the developers of this team have gained experience in companies such as Ubisoft, EA, Disney Interactive and UserJoy. A Fold Apart is a puzzle game in which players help a couple in love fight typical obstacles in a distance relationship communication barriers. The player’s task is to remove the obstacles shared by lovers by folding boards and playing with perspective.
In A Fold Apart, players monitor the fate of a couple in love, who, for professional reasons, is forced to live in remote places. However, the characters decide not to give up and continue the relationship at a distance. As is the case in such cases, text messaging often ends in misunderstandings that cause characters to distance themselves from each other. At A Fold Apart, emotional problems take on physical form obstacles in the way. The player’s task is to remove them.
The player moves the character on platforms located on the boards on which it is supposed to play sheets of paper. The art of folding paper origami was a clear inspiration for artists. The goal of each level is to change the boards in such a way as to get rid of the obstacles hiding on the platforms and unlock the rest of the way. In the game it is important to have the ability to play in terms of and a certain imagination. You have to solve more than 50 puzzles of varying difficulty. It is worth mentioning the visual effects, on which angularity stands out at first glance the game world is modeled on geometric principles that are painted in pastel colors.
