Asteroids Recharged — is an updated and new content-rich version of Asteroids, the classic shooter from 1979. It was developed by Adamvision Studios and SneakyBox and published by Atari. As with the more than four decades older original, Asteroids: Recharged does not play a particularly important role in the storyline. During the game, we play the role of a spaceship pilot who faces various threats lurking in interstellar space. In Asteroids Recharged, we take control of a top-down space fighter. In every arena in which we move freely, our task is to eliminate everything that falls on our barrel; starting with the title asteroids and ending with extraterrestrial flying saucers. We must maneuver the ship in such a way as to avoid enemy fire and dodge enemy ships or interplanetary debris.

While our ship is equipped with a simple cannon, there are various bonuses on the battlefield that increase our combat potential. We are talking about such upgrades as an electromagnetic cannon, a launcher for a black hole or an energy shield for our fighter. In Asteroids Recharged, you can play alone or in local co-op mode. Global rankings provide a replacement for online competition. The graphics in Asteroids Recharged include elements reminiscent of the original game like our triangle fighter or simple vector designs of asteroids and enemy ships, as well as much more modern components with colorful backgrounds and many different elements. In this game we can listen to a dynamic soundtrack written by Megan McDuffy.
