Prison Architect is a unique prison simulator where the player is assigned the role of manager. The main objective of the gamer is the design and subsequent construction of the prison, from which, ideally, it would be impossible to escape. All components of the prison will be under your direct supervision, starting with cameras where prisoners will spend part of their lives, ending with the supply system of everything necessary for the maintenance of criminals.

Despite the fact that Prison Architect is a purebred simulator with elements of strategy, this game has a small storyline company, thanks to which you can learn about all the nuances of building a prison, as well as get to know the most dangerous prisoners and get to know their crimes better. In addition to the passage mode, in this game there is also a sandbox mode, the so-called sand-box. The latter is notable for the occasional generation of conditions for the start of construction of the prison.

You, as the chief overseer and, so to say, the director of the prison, need to closely monitor the life inside it. The most important thing is maintaining order, regime and proper conditions for criminals. If you feed the prisoners badly and allow the prisoners to have an «unlimited» attitude towards them, then the prisoners can rebel, which is very dangerous, but not as scary as the escape. If a riot can be suppressed by sacrificing prison forces and finances, then there is nothing to be done about the escape. In this case, you may be removed from office, and the game will end. That is why you, as the prison manager, must provide your correctional facility with the latest security system.
