In Starcom: Unknown Space, you will need to build the right diplomatic relations. The protagonist will have to interact with various characters, conducting the right diplomacy. This contributes to trade relations.

You can also accompany passenger and cargo shuttles. You need to watch out for the military and pirates, who can cause great damage.
