About The Game

City Defense Z combines base expansion and survival elements with a card-based settlement fortification system. The player strategically uses cards to build defenses and extend the perimeter of their shelter during the day. These preparations are crucial, because with the onset of darkness, the hordes of the dead begin a massive offensive. The main goal is to skillfully manage fortifications to repel the incessant enemy attacks. Successfully rescuing people before dawn opens the opportunity for another cycle of construction and strengthening the defense.

As part of the gameplay of City Defense Z, each new attempt brings roguelike mechanics that require constant adaptation of strategy. No scenario is similar to the previous one, forcing you to reconsider your tactics with each playthrough. In addition, the meta-upgrades feature opens access to permanent improvements that persist between multiple runs and gradually increase the city's defenses. Progression directly supports the main goal of the project: measuring the resilience of a town by tracking the number of nights it survives under the onslaught of an increasing threat. The whole game is built on testing the ability to plan long-term.
