About The Game

Inspired by classic adventure games from the 80s and 90s, Battle Axe — is an arcade game created by experienced pixel artist Henk Nyborg. Battle Axe features high-quality graphics, faithful game mechanics and music from legendary VGM composer Manami Matsumae. The game tells the story of the country of Mercia, which was in the tyrannical power of Etheldreda a despotic sorceress who lives in an impregnable tower in the distant icy wastelands in the north. Every seven years, she sends her armies south to select the inhabitants of each town to be subjected to slavery, after which they are never heard from again.

But the inhabitants of the magical world do not intend to put up with what is happening and decide to go against the witch. The player joins the conspirators. Battle Axe can be played alone or in two-player mode. In doing so, players choose their favorite hero before embarking on a quest.
