About The Game

Galactic Civilizations 4 is the next installment in the award-winning 4X space strategy sandbox series. It was again developed by the American studio Stardock. The development of the game was announced 6 years after the release of GalCiv III. Unlike previous games, this installment contains many changes and improvements while retaining the best features offered by its predecessors. The action of the fourth part of the series takes place in the 24th century. People have discovered a way to travel in space faster than light, which they called Hyperdrive. The player takes on the role of the leader of a space civilization, discovering new star systems, analyzing the potential of the subspace realm, and competing with aliens for dominance of our galaxy.

The galaxy has a rich history that the player can explore through missions and events. Participation in missions gives him various advantages and challenges. In addition to the single player mode, Galactic Civilizations IV also offers a multiplayer mode. This time, unlike the previous installment, the game provides better support for co-op mode and scenarios that can be played in less than an hour. Galactic Civilizations IV features 3D graphics with lots of details and special effects. The maps in this part are much larger, and the number of worlds that make up a typical empire is much larger than in GalCiv III.
