Yars Recharged — is the latest game from Adamvision Studios and SneakyBox, the team behind the Atari Recharged series, which combines arcade, shooter and bullet hell elements into the classic formula. Yars Recharged requires players to pay close attention to visual and audio cues that hint at impending danger, and to hone the rhythm of each boss while overcoming increasingly complex enemy defenses, all to an epic soundtrack by Megan McDuffie. A daring assault on a hostile homeworld guarded by mechanical hives, pulsating deadly cannons and firing a barrage of spinning missiles. Shoot from afar, finding safe spots amid the hail of oncoming fire.

Then charge forward with daring raids to tear through enemy defenses. Collect enough energy by destroying enemy shields and you can power up your powerful destructive Zorlon cannon, which sends searing beams of golden energy into the enemy hive. The new game marks Atari’s return to the Yars universe, based on Howard Scott Warshaw’s classic Yars Revenge. Released in 1982.
