About The Game

Whether you want to play as humans or aliens, Silica has a game mode tailored for 3 unique game types. The RTS/FPS hybrid game today detailed its game modes in a blog post showcasing each one. The flagship game mode in Silica is called «Strategic Mode» and can be played in any combination, up to a three-way conflict between factions. Play in a lobby with up to 12 people with friends or other people. The strategy mode combines RTS and FPS as you try to control the battlefield, collect resources, build infrastructure and destroy the opposition. As a commander, you see the real-time side of things, moving units, building structures. As an infantry, you can play a first-person shooter by controlling one unit on the battlefield.

This works the same for both humans and aliens, except that alien infantry units can do things like climb walls, rocks, and various rock formations. Scout Mode is the second game type in Silica and serves as an introduction to the game. After landing your capsule on the surface, you will be tasked with exploring the area in search of Balterium, a resource that you need to collect before extracting it from the planet. There will be enemies along the way that need to be destroyed. Scout mode can be played solo or in multiplayer mode. And finally, «Arena Mode» is an all-out, uncompromising fight to the death in Silica. Try different units to get a feel for each one with the ability to switch to a different unit when you die. This continues until one of the parties reaches the required number of kills.
