Romestead is a gritty survival action game with construction and RPG elements set in the world of the fallen Roman Empire. After a catastrophe, the inhabitants have become lifeless husks hunting in the night. You must stand against the hordes, rebuild the settlement, and restore order to the devastated lands. By day, you build and develop the city, by night, repel attacks and strengthen defenses to give civilization a second chance. The player establishes a new settlement, constructing a forge, farms, and workshops, and tending to the residents' mood and needs. Production chains gradually become more complex, as new recipes and technologies are discovered.
