SILENT HILL 2 is a full-fledged remake of the legendary horror and the most popular part of the Silent Hill franchise, released back in 2001. One of the main innovations is the development of the project on a completely new engine — Unreal Engine 5. This means that the graphics, animations, as well as landscapes and lighting will be able to boast detailed development and are oriented towards modern standards. The developers have also completely redesigned the interface and gameplay. In comparison with the original, the controls will be much more convenient, and the shooting system and camera settings have been improved, since only a third-person over-the-shoulder view is provided. Although the plot remains faithful to the original source, the story has also been reworked.

In other words, the narrative will be supplemented. Many gamers will be pleased with the fact that details of the fate of secondary characters that can be met during the passage will be revealed. The game world will no longer be divided into separate locations and has become completely seamless you can forget about loading levels and move around the open space and buildings without interruptions for loading. The story begins at the moment when the protagonist named James Sunderland receives a mysterious letter from his wife Mary. This is extremely strange, because she died three years ago. The woman invites her husband to visit her native village and meet in their special place. All events take place in the small village of Silent Hill.

This is no longer that pleasant town, but a semi-abandoned place that is entangled in a mysterious fog, and terrifying monsters and psychos roam everywhere, attacking everything that moves. The player will have to fight his way through crowds of enemies and constantly run away from a huge monster — Pyramid Head, who is chasing the character all the time. During his wanderings, you can meet many interesting NPCs who will tell their own story, sometimes you even have to decide their fate, which will lead to one of four endings. It would not be superfluous to mention the fact that the game’s soundtrack has not been left without attention. Thanks to the updated sound system, it will be possible to determine that enemies are nearby, calling for help, and even aim at the fog, focusing only on shuffling or roaring, which adds atmosphere to the remake.
